2017 ATHENA Honorees named

The Chamber Foundation, Inc., is excited to announce its 2017 ATHENA International honorees. Chosen by a selection committee comprised of the past three years’ honorees, these individuals demonstrated strengths in career excellence and leadership, community volunteer involvement and willingness to serve as a mentor – especially to women in the business community.

The honorees are:

The ATHENA Award Reception will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 30 at Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls and will feature the ATHENA awards being presented to the individuals.

The gold sponsor is KeyBank and the silver sponsors include ServiceMaster Restore by NEST and Tompkins Mahopac Bank. A private VIP reception, presented by MidHudson Regional Hospital and sponsored by DCH Wappingers Falls Toyota and Wainwright Financial, will be held on Thursday, November 2.

Now in its 12th year here in the Hudson Valley, the ATHENA Award is given to members of the community who best embody the ATHENA Leadership Model, which focuses on the personal traits of strong, successful leaders. It captures the spirit and collaborative leadership style often exemplified in women leaders, while also recognizing the importance of courageous acts and fierce advocacy in pursuit of excellence. Last year, 11 honorees were chosen.

Gala to benefit The Chamber Foundation

The Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Dutchess announced they will host its inaugural Ballroom Dance Gala and Showcase on Friday, July 21from 6-11 p.m. at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel & Conference Center to benefit The Chamber Foundation, Inc.

The theme is “Broadway Spectacular!” Dancers will perform to songs that have graced the time-honored stages of Broadway.

The event begins with a cocktail hour including beer and wine, followed by the Broadway Dance Showcase, dinner, and dancing to live music by Crazy Feet.
